The campsite and its surroundings

A highlight not to be missed during your visit to Noirmoutier is the Passage du Gois. This submersible road, accessible solely at low tide, connects the island to the mainland and is the only one of its kind in the world. Next, head for the pine forests of Barbâtre, the castle of Noirmoutier-en-l'Île or the oyster huts to sample some delicious local oysters. One word of advice: in Noirmoutier, forget the car - the best way to explore the island is by bike. With almost 83 km of cycle paths among the marshes, woods and dunes, you'll have plenty to keep you amused!
